It’s been a couple of weeks since Sietske and I’ve been in Italy, where I was exhibiting my embroidery work and selling my designs at Fili Senza Tempo – Italy’s largest fair dedicated to the needle arts. It was an absolutely wonderful experience, meeting old and new friends. And luckily for me, my suitcases were a lot lighter on the way home than they were when I left the UK!
On our way home we stayed two nights in France: one in the city of Lyon, and one in Lille. As it was my second visit to both cities, I was able to play tour-guide for a bit and walk Sietske around – showing her some of the most beautiful parts of the city. We were blessed with wonderful weather in Lyon, so we were able to take quite a few photos.
The next day in Lille was only a half-day, as we both had trains back home: Sietske back to the Netherlands, and me on the Eurostar through the canal tunnel back to York in the UK. It was a lovely relaxed morning, where we managed to enjoy a little bit of the city before we had to head back to the train station. We’re already looking forward to come back to France again!
