How quickly does the weather change. The last day of April was unusually warm and today it is cloudy and quite chilly. Let’s hope we can catch some sunshine later today and have a cup of tea in the garden. On Monday and Tuesday I started cutting back the boxwood hedges. I do this twice a year and I have never pruned the hedges this early. Normally I start the first cut around June.
This morning we were visited by a lovely couple. Mr Duck had already visited us a few times this spring and today he brought Mrs Duck. They only stayed for about 10 minutes, ate some bread, walked around and then flew away. Landing in our small enclosed garden is quite an undertaking for flying ducks. First they have to land safely on the neighbor’s roof or, like this morning, on our kitchen roof and then they take a plunge into the garden. It’s quite a sight!
