Spring is now officially here in the Northern Hemisphere. The first day of spring brought us lots of sunshine and high temperatures. Today the sun is nowhere to be seen and it has been raining for hours now. Although it is a pity I can’t be outside and work in the garden right now, actually I am quite happy with the rain. On Wednesday I have fertilized all the roses, clematis and boxwoods. I guess I timed it perfectly with today’s slow and steady rain that will wash the fertilizer into the soil. Not everyone will be pleased with this rain today. While I was writing this little post I saw several brave tourists, all in full rain gear, passing our house. They probably wished that they stayed home this morning.
Weather wise, we have been totally spoiled here the last couple of weeks. Last week my son Jacob and his partner came over for a couple of days. Luckily during their stay the weather was still wonderful and we enjoyed drinking coffee and tea in the garden, which of course is quite amazing in March! Since Jacob is a newbie gardener we had quite a lot to talk about. He has a lovely blog called go under the ivy, here you can read all about his garden adventures.
