Recently Sietske and I went plant shopping. We did visit a garden center but also purchased some lovely plants from a lady who sells plants from her own garden at a roadside stand, and to be honest we prefer the latter. For payments she uses this “honor system”, a box is there for cash. A few years ago we met this lady and she showed us her huge but beautiful garden. Unfortunately at the time we didn’t bring a camera. We needed many new plants, as I have been removing some old plants. Some of them became too invasive and others were simply past their prime.
We are also converting our veggie patch back to a flower garden, so we need to fill this extra space! The veggie patch wasn’t really successful, though the snails had a great time. Besides not being a great success, another reason we stopped planting vegetables is that we care a lot about the aesthetics of our garden and we just didn’t like the look of the veggie patch. We hope that the new plants will find roots very soon and cheer up the empty gaps!
