Every last Saturday of June the annual fair in Sloten called „sipelsneon” takes place. There is a lot to see and do and a lot to buy as there are many stands along the canal. „sipelsneon” is Frisian for onion Saturday. The market itself has nothing to do with onions but Sloten is called an onion city due to it’s onion shape. It was a lovely day and the weather cooperated nicely except for one light shower. We went home with 4 inspiring books on home decorating and crafts. Though each book is very different in style, I love all four of them.
Soon I have to say goodbye to the lovely doll couple, they are now reserved. These two dolls were the first I created in this style. I am a bit sad to see them go but it also inspires me to create new work.
