So far the autumn weather has been amazing and we did enjoy quite a few bicycle trips lately. We just can’t get enough of the wonderful display of colorful trees.
Besides being out in nature a lot I also worked on a new doll.
The inspiration for this doll came from a hand spun knitted cardigan I made for Sietske 37 years ago. Back in those days I owned a spinning wheel and did lots of knitting and crocheting. Using sheep wool for a doll’s cardigan is not suitable, so instead I used 2 threads of crochet yarn which almost gave the same look. As a nice finishing touch I also crocheted a little hat. For her dress and pants I used small pieces of quilt fabrics. In one of the pictures you can see a small stash of quilt fabrics and baskets of mostly old lace. Such delights! The next doll, shown in the last picture, will be something completely different. But that you will see in a following post!
