It’s been a little while since our last post, so we have lots of photos to share. The garden gets more lovely each day. Our small potted lilac is now in full bloom. We so love the sweet scent, wishing it’s perfume lasts all summer.
Also Wada’s primrose, a clematis is now blooming. The light yellow – creamy white flowers not only look beautiful but also smell very nicely. A few weeks ago I have been sowing lettuce and I hope next week we can pick the first leaves and make a nice salad!
I haven’t spent much time in my atelier lately, the weather was simply too beautiful to be inside. I did some sketching though, but unfortunately it didn’t result in a finished painting. Maybe next week I will give it another try.
The pears tasted very good, so first I must search for new models 😉
last week Sietske and I baked a delicious vegan banana cake.
The cake is very easy to make.
50 ml coconut oil
100g sweetener (apple syrup)
200g spelt flour
1,5 tsp salt
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
3 ripe bananas (mashed)
25g flaked coconut
chopped nuts, to taste
Preheat the oven to 165ºCelcius (330ºFahrenheit)
Grease baking tin (1500 ml)
Mix dry and wet ingredients separately , then mix together.
Bake in the middle of the oven for 55 minutes, or until golden.
Insert skewer to check if the cake is done. Once done, take out of the oven and leave to cool for a few minutes, then turn cake and leave to cool on a backing rack.
