A beautiful September sunday afternoon, quiet and sunny, so there was lunch in the garden. Should we go for a bike ride? It’s so beautiful so we didn’t really want to leave the garden – but we went, and it was wonderful. We picked blackberries – there weren’t that many, but just enough to make some jam. We particularly like the small stands that sell veggies and fruit along the road. We found courgettes and shallots, which are great in a nice soup. And strawberries, which was a pleasant surprise in September.
I’m making dolls again. It’s so beautiful when you are inspired, as you see so many possibilities. At such times, it’s important to tap into that inspiration and use it, because it simply isn’t always there. And making dolls without any love or inspiration isn’t possible for me. It’s that inspiration that gives the work a soul – and I feel that it’s the same for my paintings.
Last week I made two dolls – a small white and pink one, and a sweet little girl in beige and antique white. In my previous post I mentioned that I was only going to use beige and white hues, but I feel I might limit myself a little too much. I’ve added soft pink and blue hues to my palette. Now I just have to think of some names – I’m open to suggestions, just let us know below!
