Before autumn became a little darker and wetter, we made some wonderful bike rides. One of them took us through a beautiful nature reserve close to where we live. Here cows and goats roam freely, which is wonderful for both them and ourselves. It made for some wonderful tranquil photographs. Current weather conditions aren’t exactly cycle friendly… we hope the weather clears up a little soon, so we can enjoy the many wonderful autumnal colours and smells in the forest!
About two weeks ago we took a train and visited Utrecht. It’d been a couple of years since we’d last been there, so we decided to visit this old city again. We greatly enjoyed the city centre with its beautiful old houses and trees along the canals. There are lovely little terraces where it was great spending time in the sun. We had a beautiful and relaxing day of wandering about, enjoying city gardens, listening to buskers, taking in all the sights and sounds. In short, a perfect day, worth repeating!
In our own garden it was lovely also – so much is still in bloom! I was in a romantic mood and decided to dress up the garden table with a lace cloth and an emanel can with rozes from our own garden. I sat there with my straw hat and some crochet in my hands, being simply happy. I was working on a little dress for one of my new dolls – a combination of old lace and crochet. In a next post I’ll show you the new dolls I’ve made!
