It’s halfway September already, but we wanted to share a couple of pictures from August with you. The garden is looking rather lush after lots of rain. I’ve enjoyed sitting in the garden whilst working on my dolls. A couple of photos show the making of the new ones. It’s a lot of work, but I enjoy it so much! I’m making a series of dolls in old and antique fabrics, combined with old lace and pieces that I crochet – such as a little jacket, hat, or something similar. Another great thing is the collecting of the old fabrics and lace! My ‘bric-a-brac neighbour’ had some old pieces of linen that were perfect for dolls clothing, and my ‘garden neighbour’ had some old crochet doilies and such, so I was very happy with that. There’s a start, and all in beige and whites.
I also made a new painting, in grey, yellow and white. These colours often return in my work. This one is also part of a series. I apparently really enjoy making series of things!
When the weather allowed it, we’ve enjoyed sitting in the garden, doing some reading or just enjoy the outdoors, do nothing, and just watch the beautiful flowers, plants, butterflies and bees that are circling about. In short, it was a beautiful August.
